Training & Education

GROWTH's efforts in training comprise two main activities:

  • Setting up training centres for youths, women as well as school drop-outs in various skills , i.e. in agriculture, fishery, black-smithing etc.

  • Training in bookkeeping, management and marketing skills for small-scale business operators in classes or as on the job training.

GROWTH produces manuals on relevant topics such as participatory guidelines (PRA, PLA), the construction and usage of compost toilets or the supervision of field staff in the non-formal sector.

Training and education are indispensable prerequisites for development. GROWTH establishes training opportunities in vocationally orientated skills for disadvantaged youths to support self-employment and self-reliance. In deprived rural areas, this is an estimable contribution in minimising migration into Ghanas urban centres.
